On 27 October 2026, Sétif 1 University – Ferhat Abbas held a study day at the Faculty of Technology entitled “Geopolymer Materials: Scientific Principles, Performance and Prospects for Applications in Civil Engineering.”
Led by Professor Walid Mehraz, a civil engineering researcher at IMT Nord Europe, France, the event explored the properties and construction applications of geopolymer materials, highlighting their potential as a more sustainable alternative to traditional cement and their role in reducing the environmental impact of the construction sector.
